Al-Hilal Club
Al-Hilal Club is a sport club in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and one of the clubs of the Saudi Pro League. Based in Riyadh, it has won a number of national and continental championships.
Establishment
Al-Hilal Club was originally established as “Olympic” on October 14, 1957, before being renamed “Al-Hilal” by Royal Order from King Saud Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on December 2, 1958. The club adopted blue and white as its official colors to set itself apart from other clubs.
Headquarters
Al-Hilal Club has had seven different headquarters in Riyadh City. It began in a mud house in Al-Dhahirah Neighborhood in 1951, later relocating to a nearby site to accommodate the growing number of players. In 1961, the club moved to its third location near Al-Wazir Street in Riyadh, staying there for just a year before transferring to a larger facility next to land designated for different sport like basketball and volleyball. In the late 1980s, two new headquarters were added, featuring a movie theater and a hall for cultural lectures and poetry readings. Today, Al-Hilal is based in Al-Urayja Neighborhood, where a headquarters was built by the government according to advanced sport standards. The headquarters includes multiple sport fields, halls, a theater, and an internal camp for team members.
Investments
Founded in 2019, Al-Hilal Club Investment Company is a closed joint-stock company based in Riyadh City, and its shares are fully owned by Al-Hilal Club. It works to manage, invest, operate, market, and utilize all of the club's trademarks and licenses for third-party use. Additionally, it is responsible for developing, managing, and operating all investment programs with fans and membership programs.
The company is responsible for owning, managing, and operating all investment and commercial rights related to the club, its players, programs, and projects. This includes marketing, operation, sales, and management of all relationships with investors. The company also handles the management and operation of all investment, sponsorship, licensing, advertising, and leasing contracts, and obtaining or providing services.
Al-Hilal Club Academy
Al-Hilal Club launched its first private academy in August 2019. The following month, it opened its first branch in northern Riyadh (Kingdom Schools), with fifteen branches in the cities of Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah.
Sports
Al-Hilal Club features sixteen sports: football, volleyball, basketball, karate, taekwondo, squash, tennis, athletics, handball, table tennis, swimming, judo, badminton, cycling, e-sport, and weightlifting.
Al-Hilal Company
On June 5, 2023, the Ministry of Sport announced the transformation of Al-Hilal Club into a company owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), along with the establishment of an investment fund for the company. The club's value would be deposited into the investment fund in exchange for the transfer of ownership. The objective is to achieve sustainable returns for the club company. The PIF would hold a 75 percent stake in the company, with the remaining 25 percent owned by a non-profit organization. This initiative aligns with the investment and privatization project launched by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Historical achievements
Al-Hilal recorded the most significant achievement in its history by finishing as runner-up in the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup, falling five to three to Real Madrid in the final. Al-Hilal Club holds the record for the most continental titles by any Saudi or Asian club, with a total of eight. It has also made the most Club World Cup appearances by an Asian team, (competing four times), and leads all Asian clubs in goals scored at the tournament (with seventeen goals).

Charity Foundation
Al-Hilal Club Charity Foundation was founded in July 2022 to lead Al-Hilal’s charitable, community, and volunteer initiatives throughout Saudi Arabia. It dedicates a fixed portion of the club’s revenue and fan contributions to these efforts, fostering collaboration between Al-Hilal, its partners, and its supporters in delivering integrated charitable work.
Women Team
Al-Hilal Club has established an independent women's sport department with the goal of developing a comprehensive system for women's sport and advancing women's empowerment in the sport field. This helps realize the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The department launched with seven sport: football, volleyball, basketball, karate, taekwondo, fencing, and darts.
Stadium
In 2024, Al-Hilal Club signed an agreement with the General Entertainment Authority to designate Boulevard Hall as the official stadium for the club, rebranding it as "Kingdom Arena." The stadium will have a seating capacity of around 26,000 and will feature cutting-edge technology to offer an unparalleled fan experience.
Acquisition of Al-Hilal Club
On April 16, 2026, the Public Investment Fund and Kingdom Holding Company signed a binding share purchase agreement, under which Kingdom Holding Company will acquire 70 percent of the total share capital of Al-Hilal Saudi Football Club Company. The transaction is based on a total enterprise value of SAR 1.4 billion for the full share capital of Al-Hilal Club Company. The deal was executed on the basis of an enterprise value of approximately SAR 1.4 billion and an equity valuation of SAR 1.2 billion (representing 100 percent of the total equity of Al-Hilal Club Company). Accordingly, the consideration for acquiring a 70 percent stake amounts to SAR 840 million.
