Who Were “Al-Ruba'‘ During the Reign of King Abdulaziz?

“Al-Ruba‘” were the men close to King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, members of his private council in Riyadh; as his palace consisted of several sections, including the private council, whom the King described as the group or “Al-Ruba‘”, a word with deep connotations in the local community, as it refers to close companionship and familiarity. King Abdulaziz did not differentiate between the members of his private council or favor one over another except in the extent of the responsibilities he entrusted to them, their educational attainment, and their practical abilities.
