What Is the Children’s and Young Adults' Literature Accelerator?

It is an initiative launched by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission under the Ministry of Culture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This business accelerator is aimed at startups focused on children’s and young adults' literature. It seeks to motivate entrepreneurs, provide investment opportunities, and find solutions to the challenges facing the field. It also supports the literary community, as well as interested designers and developers, while contributing to the creation of job opportunities.

In its first edition in 2022, the Children’s and Young Adults' Literature Accelerator targeted the development of ten startups. Its workflow began with a five-day training course, at the end of which participants’ work was presented and evaluated by a judging committee to select the ten startups qualified for the next stage. They were then offered an intensive four-month training program, guidance sessions with experts and consultants in enterprise development, as well as ongoing follow-up and guidance.
