Wesal Application
Wesal Application is an official electronic government application in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is an initiative by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, aimed at facilitating access to discreet individuals in need through philanthropists. The ministry receives information about the case and contact details, which are then verified and confirmed. If the case is proven to be in need according to the social security system and its conditions, the individual is registered and enrolled in social security programs. The application was launched on electronic app stores in 2018 and is supervised by the Ministry.
Contribution mechanism in the Wesal Application
The Wesal application is primarily designed for philanthropists who are aware of discreet families and individuals in need. These philanthropists contribute by submitting the beneficiaries' information to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development for review and verification. If eligibility is confirmed, their names are registered in the programs offered by the social security system, and their information is then referred to the relevant social security offices based on the geographic location closest to the beneficiary.
The application form submitted by the user includes several fields, such as the user's name and mobile number, the name of the discreet individual, their contact information, and address details including city, region, and a description of the neighborhood. It also requires a brief description of the individual’s condition, along with the reason for not applying for the social security pension service.
Target groups of the Wesal Application
Wesal Application targets individuals and families covered by the social security system. These include Saudi citizens residing in Saudi Arabia, non-Saudi women married to Saudi citizens, non-Saudi widows or divorcees with Saudi children, children of Saudi widows or divorcees from non-Saudi fathers, persons with disabilities, orphans, and widows with orphaned children who hold mobility cards.
Development of the Wesal Application
To design and develop the Wesal application, a specialized technical team carries out a range of tasks, most notably sending improvement updates, identifying and fixing bugs, closing security gaps, enhancing the user interface, and enriching the overall user experience. The application operates on smart device systems (Android and iOS), supports both Arabic and English languages, and is available free of charge.
