The Saudi Orthodontic Society

Founded in 2006, it functions under the oversight of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, with its headquarters situated in Riyadh, the capital city. It ranks among the first specialized scientific health associations in Saudi Arabia.
Objectives of Saudi Orthodontic Society
The Saudi Orthodontic Society aims to serve fields related to improving the scientific and professional performance of society members, by providing opportunities for those working in orthodontics to contribute to scientific and professional advancement in these fields, facilitating the exchange of scientific and professional outputs and ideas in the society's area of interest, and linking relevant institutions and entities within and outside Saudi Arabia.
The society also aims to elevate the field of orthodontics by providing advice, conducting necessary studies, setting professional standards, and participating in the monitoring of its performance in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, in addition to raising public health awareness.
Activities of Saudi Orthodontic Society
The society has since its inception carried out several activities including organizing the annual orthodontic conference and presenting the society’s award for clinical excellence for the best orthodontic case, which accompanies the forum’s launch every year.
The society participates in local and international conferences and seminars, organizes workshops and awareness campaigns, publishes a peer-reviewed scientific journal recognized by the U.S. governmental research website "PubMed" across all medical fields, and drafts agreements and memoranda of understanding with several associations and entities operating within Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties oversees the activities of the Saudi Orthodontic Society to raise the standards of professional practice, support scientific publishing in the society’s specialty area, and enhance the scientific and professional performance of society members and practitioners in the field of orthodontics. Moreover, it aims to raise public health awareness by achieving a positive impact through forming scientific, professional, and investment partnerships locally, regionally, and globally.
