The Saudi Society for Public Taste, a non-profit civil society association, aims to create a community environment that preserves taste in all behaviors and transactions across different aspects of life, based on religious values and social standards. It is headquartered in Dammam, Eastern Province, and has been registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development since 2016. It is Honorary chaired by the Governor of the Eastern Province, His Royal Highness Prince Saud Bin Naif Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Objectives of the Saudi Society for Public Taste

The Saudi Society for Public Taste aims to develop practices and public behavior that enhance public taste within the Saudi community and to achieve a sophisticated society characterized by refined conduct in all actions and dealings across various aspects of life, based on religious values and community standards. The Society also aims to contribute to shaping the Saudi personality by promoting the values of taste and citizenship, and to highlight positive practices demonstrated by individuals and institutions that influence the adoption of values related to public taste.

Programs of the Saudi Society for Public Taste

The scope of work of the Saudi Society for Public Taste includes a number of areas, such as government institutions, where it has worked to enhance the experience of beneficiaries in about forty government entities and to improve patient experience in approximately 140 health facilities. In the field of education, the books “Our Life is Decorum” and “Teacher’s Guide” have been adopted as enrichment resources for extracurricular activities, in addition to their inclusion in the National Education Portal (IEN).

In the urban landscape and parks, the association has worked to promote positive practices among visitors to parks and gardens, enhance the general appearance of neighborhoods and city facades, preserve mosque facilities and resources, and enable imams to manage the behavior of worshippers by issuing the “Mosque Etiquette and Decorum Guide.” Moreover, one of the domains the association has focused on is sports, where it has sought to promote refined practices among the sports community through participation in the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup in Qatar, in addition to being a key partner in the Roshn Saudi League 2025–2026.

In the traffic environment and public transportation, the association launched the “Driving with Decorum” initiative in partnership with car dealerships in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as “Safety and Peace” in cooperation with delivery app companies to promote safe and refined driving on the roads. It has also contributed to enriching public and private transportation experiences with approximately fourteen institutions, improving air transportation at Saudi airports, and enhancing rail transport across metro systems, buses, and trains. In addition, it has supported the entertainment experience for moviegoers at the national level in cooperation with around twenty-three branches across Saudi Arabia.

The association issued a book titled “Distinguished Taste Services in Restaurants and Cafés,” in addition to enriching the shopping and entertainment experience in malls. It also worked on improving consumer behavior in central markets by launching the “Refine Your Style” initiative in cooperation with fifty central market branches. Furthermore, it introduced visitors, pilgrims, and tourists to Saudi Arabia's customs and regulations through twelve land, sea, and air entry points. It also contributed to developing the “Tourist Journey Planning Model,” based on authentic Saudi values, to enhance tourists’ experience in learning about Saudi Arabia's culture.

Methods of the Saudi Society for Public Taste

The Saudi Society for Public Taste follows specific methods to deliver its message, namely training and qualification, awareness through the provision of various awareness products, and education as a means of promoting behavioral patterns in society.

Projects of the Saudi Society for Public Taste

In order to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which include placing three Saudi cities among the top one hundred cities in the world in global livability indicators by 2030, the Saudi Society for Public Taste is implementing the Al-Khobar Governorate of Taste” project in partnership with the Sharqia Development Authority. The project supports national efforts to enhance the happiness of citizens and residents by providing a positive living environment, and it aims to prepare the city of al-Khobar to become a role model in adopting all aspects of public taste that shape individual life and the culture of society.
