Saudi Media Award

The Saudi Media Award, was launched in conjunction with the Saudi Media Forum, in its first edition in 2019, aiming to honour outstanding local and Arab media pioneers. It began with the name Saudi Media Forum Award, until its name changed to "Saudi Media Award" in the fifth edition of the forum in 2026. The award is organized within the activities of the Saudi Media Forum, and the Future of Media Exhibition (FOMEX), in partnership between the Ministry of Media and the Human Capability Development Program, a part of achieving Saudi Vision 2030.

Objectives

The Saudi Media Award aims to enhance the role of media workers and inspire them to elevate the media scene by highlighting creative models, encouraging media initiatives to develop the industry and establish innovative professional practices, enriching media knowledge with content that clarifies development paths and supports specialists and audiences, building an informed community that exchanges knowledge and understands the rapid transformations in the media sector, and empowering national talents to build a knowledge community for exchanging experiences and stimulating innovation in various forms of media production.

Fields

The Saudi Media Award has specified several fields, including: journalism, which includes news reports, journalistic articles, journalistic interviews, academic research in media fields, and visual and audio media content, which includes sports television programs, social dialogue television programs, podcast programs and dialogue radio, AI-generated content, special awards such as Media Personality of the Year, Columnist Award, Global Competitor, and Media Excellence Awards for the best media work for Foundation Day, National Day, and Flag Day.

Tracks

The Saudi Media Award includes four tracks in various fields of media work, which are the television track that includes sports programs, social dialogue programs, dialogue-based television programs, the radio and sound track such as podcast programs and dialogue radio, the digital track which includes AI-generated content for the most visual content generated by AI applications, as the first global award specializing in this field within the system of media awards, and the journalism track which includes news reports, journalistic articles, journalistic interviews, and the regional level opinion column award.

Conditions

The Saudi Media Award has set several conditions for participating in the award, including: the participant or nominee must own the general and intellectual rights of the submitted work, or partial ownership granting the right to submit with the approval of the other parties, consent to the Saudi Broadcasting Authority or any third party authorized by the Authority to publish the entries on the site or in any other media outlet, and use the entries in promotional activities, advertisements, and advertising campaigns.
