Riyadh University of Arts, is a university specializing in culture and the arts. It is headquartered in the Irqah district in Riyadh, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A Royal Decree was issued on March 14, 2026, approving its establishment, and it operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture.

Objectives of Riyadh University of Arts

Riyadh University of Arts aims to strengthen the specialized education ecosystem in the fields of culture and the arts, prepare national talent in several creative specializations, develop the cultural sector, and provide an educational environment that contributes to supporting cultural activity and developing the cultural and creative industries in Saudi Arabia.

Riyadh University of Arts Regulations

The regulations for Riyadh University of Arts stipulate that it is an independent educational institution with legal personality and financial and administrative autonomy, in addition to qualifying national cadres who contribute to developing the cultural and creative sectors. It offers specialized academic programs in the fields of culture and the arts, in line with global practices in arts and cultural education, by entering into partnerships with international academic institutions that undertake the design of academic programs, cooperate in scientific research, and provide educational and cultural programs, in addition to supporting the path of developing national talents by fostering creativity and building skills.

Riyadh University of Arts contributes to building an educational ecosystem based on academic partnerships with international educational institutions, enhancing the exchange of academic expertise and the development of educational programs, and supporting Saudi Arabia’s position as a cultural and creative hub in the region.

Board of Trustees of Riyadh University of Arts

The Royal Decree approving the establishment of Riyadh University of Arts authorised the Minister of Culture to exercise the powers of the University’s Board of Trustees until it is formed, to complete the regulatory and administrative procedures necessary to commence the University’s operations and enable it to carry out its academic and educational duties.

Colleges of Riyadh University of Arts

Riyadh University of Arts comprises thirteen colleges offering several specializations, including: culinary arts, architecture and design, heritage studies, visual arts, cultural management, literature, fashion, and arts management. The University launched with three colleges: film, music, and theatre and performing arts.

Plans of Riyadh University of Arts

Riyadh University of Arts plans to be among the world’s top fifty international universities specializing in arts and culture, by providing an educational environment that encourages students to discover their passion, contribute to the creative economy, and develop their talents. It adopts a gradual approach that meets the needs of educational levels and covers cultural sectors, offering academic programs that ensure continuity of education in the fields of culture and the arts, including: bachelor’s, higher diploma, master’s, and PhD, in addition to diploma programs and short courses. It also offers scholarships for cultural talents.

Partnerships of Riyadh University of Arts

Riyadh University of Arts has signed educational partnerships and memoranda of understanding with international institutions to design academic programs, develop competencies in the fields of culture and the arts, make available initiatives that enrich education, support international cultural exchange efforts and cultural development, and enhance research collaboration.

Among the entities with which Riyadh University of Arts has signed partnerships is the Conservatory of Performing Arts at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AMDA) in New York and Hollywood, for the Conservatory of Performing Arts to be an educational partner for the College of Theatre and Performing Arts at Riyadh University of Arts.

It also signed a partnership with the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, to be an academic partner for the College of Heritage and Civilizational Studies at Riyadh University of Arts, to cooperate in designing and delivering specialized academic programs, with the aim of establishing standards of excellence in heritage and cultural education, and supporting efforts for international cultural exchange between the University and international educational institutions.

It also signed a partnership with ESSEC Business School to cooperate in designing and qualifying programs for the University’s College of Cultural Management, and to prepare future leaders and refine their talents.
