The award categories are divided by association size (in terms of budget), as follows: large associations category (more than USD1 million), medium associations category (USD100,000-USD1 million), and small associations category (up to USD100,000).
The value of the award is estimated at USD250,000. Three winners are selected from the first category, being large associations, where each winner receives a medal of honor and a certificate of appreciation. An amount of USD15,000 is allocated in favor of each of the ten winners of the second category, being medium associations, and USD10,000 in favor of each of the ten winners of the third category, being small associations.

The associations nominated for the award are subject to an assessment process overseen by specialized judging committees.
