Mutaib Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz
Prince Mutaib Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Royal Highness, and grandson of the Founding King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, and one of the sons of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, was born in Riyadh, and served as Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers, and later as Minister of the National Guard. He is married with three sons and three daughters.
Life of Prince Mutaib Bin Abdullah
Prince Mutaib Bin Abdullah completed his education stages in the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah, and joined King Saud University in Riyadh for one academic year before deciding to enter the military field. He was sent to the "Sandhurst" Academy in Britain and graduated with the rank of lieutenant. Upon his return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he was appointed in the National Guard Military Schools.
In 1983, King Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued a decree promoting Prince Mutaib Bin Abdullah to the rank of colonel, and King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, when he was Crown Prince, appointed Prince Mutaib as a commander of King Khalid Military College.
Military advancements for Prince Mutaib Bin Abdullah
Prince Mutaib progressed through military ranks until he reached the rank of brigadier general, after which he joined the Command and Staff College in Riyadh, earning a master's degree in military sciences with distinction, and then was promoted to the rank of major general.
In 1990, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, when he was Crown Prince, ordered the appointment of Prince Mutaib as Deputy Head of the Military Affairs at the National Guard Presidency, in addition to his role as commander of King Khalid Military College. In 1995, a Royal Order was issued promoting him to the rank of lieutenant general, and on December 21, 2000, King Fahd Bin Abdulaziz ordered his promotion to general and appointment as Deputy Head of the National Guard for Military Affairs.
Positions of Prince Mutaib Bin Abdullah
On June 21, 2009, a Royal Order was issued by King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz appointing Prince Mutaib Bin Abdullah as Deputy Head of the National Guard for Executive Affairs with the rank of minister. On November 17, 2010, the Royal Decree appointed him Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers, and Head of the National Guard. On May 27, 2013, a Royal Order was issued converting the National Guard Presidency to a Ministry and renaming it the Ministry of the National Guard, appointing Prince Mutaib as its minister.
Prince Mutaib continued as Minister of the National Guard until a Royal Order was issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on November 4, 2017, relieving him from his position.
