Hail Literary Club
Hail Literary Club is one of the cultural and literary institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, it was established in 1994 to serve as a literary and cultural platform for the residents of Hail Province. The club aims to enhance and develop the cultural and literary scene, while supporting and nurturing literary talent.
Activities of Hail Literary Club
Hail Literary Club publishes literary works and prints cultural books in support of its objectives and cultural activities. It organizes literary and poetry lectures, cultural seminars, and hosts poets and authors from within and outside the province. The club also participates in literary conferences, book fairs, cultural weeks, and national events, and sponsors literary competitions in various genres, including the novel, short story, and poetry.
Board of directors of Hail Literary Club
The first board of directors of Hail Literary Club was chaired by Rashid Bin Fahd Al-Amro, with Abdulrahman Al-Freh serving as his deputy. In 2006, a new board was formed and remained in place until 2011, when a general assembly was held to elect a new board. The newly elected board consisted of four women and six men.
Publications of Hail Literary Club
Hail Literary Club has published various books that contribute to the cultural and literary fields. It also established the Hail Novel Award, which attracts authors specialized in the art of novel writing. The club publishes the periodical "Ru'a," dedicated to hosting poets and writers and organizing literary and press interviews with them. Additionally, the club organizes the Hatim Al-Ta'i Forum.
