Gamers8 2022 is an entertainment festival that brings the world of virtual e-gaming to life through a dedicated site built with the latest technology. It is prepared to host local and international teams and players in the e-gaming area at Riyadh City Boulevard during Riyadh Season in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Participants compete for USD15,000,000 in prize money, making it one of the largest competitions in the global gaming and e-sports sector.

 

Gamers8 2022 Competitions

The first edition of Gamers8 was held over a period of 6 weeks, from July 14 to September 8, 2022, organized by the Saudi Esports Federation under the title "Your Gateway to the Next World." A group of international and local players competed in a number of world-famous games, including Fortnite, PUBG, Rocket League, and Dota 2. Riyadh Season also allowed fans and visitors to watch the tournaments, in addition to broadcasting the competitions in eight languages through the official Season Platform channels.

 

Gamers8 2022 Tournaments

The Rocket League Tournament opened Gamers8 2022, with a total prize pool of SAR7,500,000. Twenty-four teams participated, including the Falcons team from Saudi Arabia and the Furia Esports team from Latin America, as well as FaZe Clan and Rogue from North America. The Dota 2 tournament, with a prize pool of approximately SAR19,000,000, competed for its prizes. Saudi Arabia's Deboosters, who won the Dota 2 Elite Championship during the Players Without Borders season, and eight international teams competed in Rainbow Six Siege, including TSM FTX from North America and Liquid from Latin America.

Gamers8 2022 Activities

Gamers8 2022 is based on four main events, including professional e-sports and gaming tournaments; the "Next World Summit," which gathers speakers and experts in the e-sports and gaming sector from around the world; the participation of academic institutes and organizations in the e-sports and gaming sector; and about a thousand activities, including entertainment, educational shows, and concerts over eight weeks, featuring approximately thirty international and local artists as part of the Gamers8 events.

In its first edition, 1.4 million visitors and 132 million people worldwide watched the professional e-sports competitions, which included 113 international teams and 391 professional players from sixty-one countries.
