The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Iftar Program is an annual humanitarian charitable initiative to provide iftar meals for fasting individuals during the month of Ramadan each year. It is implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in several countries through the Kingdom's embassies and religious centers abroad.

Objectives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Iftar Program

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Iftar Program seeks to achieve several objectives, including providing iftar meals to the greatest number of fasting individuals, bringing Muslims together at collective iftar tables in mosques, Islamic and cultural centers, in addition to addressing the needs of Muslims during the month of Ramadan.

Beneficiaries of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Iftar Program

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Iftar Program benefits Islamic countries and Muslim communities around the world. Among the communities benefiting from the program are Muslims in South Africa, Zambia, Mozambique, Mauritius, and several nearby countries. In addition to the Republic of Maldives, Jordan, Palestinian and Syrian refugee camps, Kazakhstan, Chad, Indonesia, Guinea-Conakry, Benin, Fiji Islands, Nepal, Australia, Croatia, Cambodia, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Comoros Islands, Benin, Zanzibar, Albania, and Djibouti.

Other beneficiary countries include India, Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Mali, Djibouti, Cameroon, Bangladesh, Equatorial Guinea, Chad, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Argentina, in addition to South Korea and Tanzania.

In 2024, the number of beneficiary countries of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Iftar Program reached sixty-one countries. The program aims to provide iftar meals for more than one million fasting individuals. It is implemented through the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' embassies and religious attachés in countries around the world, in coordination with ministries of religious affairs and official charitable organizations in the beneficiary countries.

Recognition of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Iftar Program

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance received recognition from Indonesia's "MURI" Record Museum for the second consecutive year after organizing, through the Kingdom’s religious attaché at the Saudi embassy in Indonesia, the longest Ramadan iftar table among ASEAN countries in 2025, as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Iftar Program. The table extended 2,800 m, attended by approximately twenty thousand fasting individuals. It was implemented by 590 supervisors and workers and prepared by twenty restaurants. The table was set up at "Manahan" Sport Stadium in Solo City, Central Java Province.
