Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN) is an investment company owned by the Public Investment Fund. It was established in 2018 to develop the entertainment sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, support the fields of social and economic development, and harness its future projects to achieve Saudi Vision 2030.
The company invests around SAR50 billion to build and operate twenty-one full-service integrated entertainment destinations that include more than 150 entertainment areas across fourteen Saudi cities.
SEVEN enhances the quality of life of citizens and residents in the Kingdom by diversifying entertainment options, developing talents, and attracting local competencies in the entertainment sector. The company establishes entertainment destinations based on a new concept of pleasure that meets aspirations and fulfills people's desires by offering a range of entertainment experiences.
SEVEN sectors
Since its establishment, SEVEN has announced a list of projects across four strategic entertainment sectors: cinema, entertainment complexes, amusement parks, and specialized family entertainment centers.
These projects are strategically distributed to cover specific parts of the cities' population, which will benefit from the diverse local entertainment options based on the multiple target groups, ease of access, and numerous transportation options. By 2030, these cities aspire to become some of the largest tourist destinations in the world.
SEVEN projects
In 2019, the company launched its first project, an entertainment complex in Riyadh on the Eastern Ring Road with an area of approximately 100,000 m. This complex includes green spaces, international restaurants and cafes, equipped areas for events, sports activities, and live shows.
In 2023, SEVEN acquired the entire cinema business of AMC in the Kingdom, including intellectual property (IP) rights and the commercial name of AMC Cinemas in the Kingdom, which opened the first cinema theatre under its management in 2018.
In 2019, the company launched a project to build another entertainment complex in Al-Rabwah neighborhood in Riyadh with an area of 135 m, including various options of entertainment facilities, international cafes and restaurants, as well as open spaces for entertainment and sports activities, live performances, and cinema halls which are consistent with international standards.
Moreover, SEVEN signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery to offer specialized indoor adventure centers, which reflect Discovery Adventures' special content, in the Kingdom.
In 2023, SEVEN announced the construction of their entertainment destination in Tabuk with a value of more than SAR1 billion, over an area of 40,000 m. This destination provides a wide selection of entertainment options and experiences.
