The Sadara Chemical Company, known as Sadara, is a joint venture between the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) and Dow Chemical Company (Dow). This chemical complex is the largest of its kind in the world, having been constructed in a single phase. It is located in the al-Jubayl Industrial City II on the eastern coast of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Establishment of Sadara Chemical Company
Sadara Chemical Company was established in 2011 with a cost of approximately SAR75 billion. The complex comprises twenty-six world-class factories, including fourteen specialized chemical plants that produce chemicals not previously manufactured in the Kingdom. The project covers an area of six km2 with a production capacity of more than three million metric tons of chemical products per year.

In 2016, Sadara Chemical Company witnessed significant development by constructing the mixed-feed steam cracker unit. This unit plays a crucial role in producing a diverse range of plastics and chemical products that meet the standards of various sectors, such as advanced packaging, electronics, and automotive industries.
Production of Sadara Chemical Company
Sadara Chemical Company stands out in the Arabian Gulf for its production of Toluene Diisocyanate (TDI), which is used in the manufacturing of furniture, mattresses, car seats, coatings, adhesives, and sealants.
Sadara Chemical Company is constructing the PlasChem Park on an area of twelve km2, adjacent to the new Sadara Industrial City in al-Jubayl Industrial City. The project consists of two sections, one for chemical industries and the other for downstream industries. This complex for chemical and downstream industries is world-class and the result of a collaboration between Sadara and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.
Contributions of Sadara Chemical Company
Sadara Chemical Company aims at contributing to economic diversification and the development of the downstream industries in the Kingdom. Additionally, it seeks to create thousands of new job opportunities through its chemical complex or the adjacent PlasChem Park, established by Saudi Aramco to achieve the total value of the Sadara Industrial City.
