Tatweer Buildings Company

Tatweer Buildings Company (TBC) is a government limited liability company within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and is wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund. TBC's operations began in 2013. It is based on commercial foundations specialized in project management, and is the implementing arm of the Ministry of Education's projects. TBC is headquartered in the capital, Riyadh.

TBC aims to establish innovative, high-quality educational establishments, maintain educational buildings effectively and adopt digital technologies in facility management. TBC automates management by introducing remote control and intelligent business analysis through the specialized "My School facility Management" app. All buildings operated by the company are managed through a control center linked with school principals and contractors. TBC diversifies revenue sources for the education sector and strengthens asset value by promoting private-sector partnerships. It has launched several investment programs in this respect, such as leasing vacant educational facilities and lands, uncompleted buildings, sports complexes and commercial buildings owned by the Ministry of Education.

TBC undertakes projects for school and educational buildings, as well as administrative facilities of the Ministry of Education, based on the decision of the Minister of Education issued in 2017. The company submits and awards its tenders according to its law, in addition to providing buildings, as well as signing and supervising their contracts, including engineering and operational works, as well as maintenance and development. This will provide the Ministry of Education with enough time to perform its basic educational activities.

TBC's scope of activity covers design management, construction, implementation and supervision of school buildings and supporting facilities, in addition to the provision of services starting with consultancy, administration and planning through maintenance, rehabilitation, repair and refurbishment.

The company built and designed 1,573 educational facilities with twenty-five thousand classrooms of 764,000 capacity for students.

In mid-2017, TBC launched initiatives within Saudi Vision 2030 with a budget estimated at over SAR3.6 billion, including nurseries and kindergartens development programs, the development of special education programs, enhancement of school safety methods, the initiative for promoting sports participation among female students, the educational and recreational neighborhood clubs initiative, and the initiative to attract private investment.
