Haql Governorate is part of Tabuk Province that lies northwest of the ‎Kingdom. According to the latest official statistics, it is one of the three least populated governorates in the province. Only 3.1 percent of the province's population, estimated at 27,712, live in the governorate, according to the latest population census

Location of Haql Governorate

Haql Governorate is located in the far northwest of the Kingdom on the Saudi-Jordanian border, 250 km from the seat of the emirate, Tabuk City. Along with al-Bad' Governorate, it forms the Kingdom's coastal strip overlooking the Gulf of Aqaba. Haql is also the meeting point in the north of the Kingdom with three countries: the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Palestine. It is bordered to the east by Tabuk City, to the south by al-Bad' Governorate, to the west by the Gulf of Aqaba, and to the north by the Jordanian borders.

Haql Governorate falls under category (B), according to the civil services level in ‎the governorate and has six affiliated administrative centers.‎

Tourism potential in Haql Governorate

Two Arab countries can be clearly seen from the coasts of Haql Governorate, ‎an advantage that makes it a unique coastal governorate.‎

Haql offers a number of tourist attractions, such as the natural beaches ‎along the coastline and the coral reefs that are unique to the Gulf of ‎Aqaba, in addition to the dunes, mountains and hills with marvelous ‎scenic views, where green palm trees form a stunning palette with the blue sea. Moreover, the governorate has low humidity levels, an exclusive characteristic of the governorate.

How to reach Haql Governorate

Haql Governorate can be reached by land via Main Road No.5, which connects the governorate ‎with all major cities in the Kingdom. The road heads north, starting from the ‎Yemeni-Saudi borders in the southern part of the Kingdom until it reaches Haql ‎Governorate at the Jordanian-Saudi borders. ‎

Three close airports can be used by Haql residents: Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Regional Airport in Tabuk City, Al Wajh Domestic Airport in Al Wajh Governorate, and the International Red Sea Airport.
