Prince Sattam University (PSAU) is a Saudi public university, established in 2009. Formerly, it was a branch of King Saud University in al-Kharj until a Royal Decree was issued to merge all faculties in the governorates of al-Kharj, ad-Dilam, Wadi ad-Dawasir, Hawtat Bani Tamim, al-Aflaj, al-Sulayyil and al-Hariq under the University of al-Kharj. After two years, its name was changed to Salman Bin Abdulaziz University. In 2015, the name was also amended to Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University by orders from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salaman Bin Abdulaziz. The university is one of fourteen others established during the reign of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The university includes eighteen faculties specialized in health, science, humanities, and society. It received the ISO 27001 in Information Security, and won the Blackboard Catalyst Award for Leading Change. Moreover, it ranked second in the Digital Excellence competition.
Protection system of Prince Sattam University
In collaboration with the Security Department, the university provided a television surveillance system to achieve security and safety inside the university. It consists of 1,200 cameras covering twenty-eight buildings inside al-Kharj branch, all supervised by a central surveillance room and twenty-nine subdivisions. This system is integrated with others in Hawtat Bani Tamim and al-Aflaj governorates.
Publications of Prince Sattam University
Prince Sattam University publishes an electronic newspaper, which records over seventy-six thousand visitors. It focuses on various scientific research, and publishes the Journal of Sharia Science and Arabic Language, as well as the Journal of Educational Sciences.
