The Saudi Electronic University (SEU), founded in 2011, is a public university with its main campus in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is the only Saudi university with thirteen branches other than its main branch, including al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, Jeddah, Dammam, Abha, Jazan, Tabuk, al-Ahsa, Najran, Qassim, Hail, al-Jawf, Jubail, and Yanbu.
SEU is embracing a blended education approach that integrates traditional in-person teaching methods with technology-enhanced distance learning and self-paced education. This approach enables both its staff and students to seamlessly balance work and study commitments by adopting an educational model that does not rely heavily on the physical presence of students on a daily basis.
SEU colleges
The College of Administration and Financial Sciences, the College of Computing and Informatics, the College of Health Sciences, and the College of Science and Theoretical Studies are the four colleges where SEU awards bachelor's and master's degrees in various specializations.
In addition to the Standard Arabic Test, identical to international tests such as IELTS and TOEFL and hosted on the global Prometric testing platform, SEU introduced the online Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Program. This program is hosted on the international language teaching platform Rosetta Stone.
SEU statistics
In the fourteenth week of the second semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, there are a total of 26,436 male and female students. Additionally, the faculty consists of 860 members, and there are a total of 4,316 classes. In contrast to other public universities, SEU applies flexible admission rules, allowing students from all age groups to enroll in its various programs regardless of when they got their high school degrees.
SEU has partnerships with international entities and companies, such as the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), Ohio University, and Franklin University, to support its vision of becoming a global pioneer in distance learning.
