The University of Hafr Al Batin (UHB) is a state university in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and one of the fourteen universities established during the reign of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud. It is also one of the three Saudi universities established by a single royal order, alongside the University of Bisha and Jeddah University. It is headquartered in Hafr Al Batin Governorate in the Eastern Province.
Establishment of UHB
The University of Hafr Al Batin was established in 2014, starting with the Faculty of Education for Girls affiliated with Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University in Hafr Al Batin, Al Nairyah, Qaryat al-Ulya, and Khafji, in addition to the Community Faculty and Boys Faculties affiliated with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. All the previously mentioned faculties were admitted under the umbrella of Hafr Al Batin University, once the decision to establish it as an independent university was made.
Location of UHB
UHB is located within the university's district on King Abdulaziz Road, one of the vital roads in the governorate. It consists of faculty buildings, departments and deanships that feature a modern architectural character, in addition to parking lots and green spaces.
Faculties of Hafr Al Batin University
The university includes twelve faculties which are distributed among the university's branches. The main branch is located in Hafr Al Batin, and includes nine faculties, and the other three are located in Al Nairyah, Qaryat Al Ulya and Khafji. The university has 22,308 male and students, as well as 517 faculty members, according to the 2020 university education statistics.
