Bandar Mohammed Al-Harbi (born 1977) is a Saudi writer and translator. He has served as Head of Publishing at the Ministry of Energy since 2023 and has received several national awards in the field of translation

Bandar Al-Harbi earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from King Abdulaziz University in August 2001.

Professional Career of Bandar Al-Harbi

Bandar Al-Harbi began his career at the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, where he worked from August 1996 to March 2016. He then joined the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), where he served as Head of Publications and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Qafilah Magazine from March 2016 to July 2022.

Following his tenure at Aramco, he moved to the Ministry of Energy, where he worked as a Senior Advisor from 2022 to 2023. He currently serves as Head of Publishing at the ministry and has held the position of Executive Director of the Energy Media Professionals Association since 2025.

Published Works and Projects of Bandar Al-Harbi

Bandar Al-Harbi has translated approximately 13 books from English into Arabic and has overseen several translation projects, including Selections of Saudi Short Stories and Poetry, published by the Eastern Province Literary Club in 2018, and the Mu‘allaqat Translation Project into English (2021), French (2022), Spanish (2022), and Chinese (2024). He has also contributed to the publication of SATA Magazine, issued by the Saudi Translators Association.

Awards of Bandar Al-Harbi

Bandar Al-Harbi won third place in the translation category of the National Cultural Awards Initiative organized by the Ministry of Culture in 2021. He also received first place in the Book Summary track of the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) Arabic Language Award in 2023.

In 2024, he won the KAPSARC Arabic Language Award in the Specialized Enrichment Translation track for contributions in the field of energy.
