
Mutab Ayed Al-Mutairi has been a member of the Shura Council in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since October 20, 2020. His term was renewed for a second session starting September 6, 2024. He is also the council's deputy chairman of the Committee for Security and Military Affairs.
Mutab Al-Mutairi's academic qualifications
Mutab Al-Mutairi holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Security track from the University of Findlay in Ohio. He also earned a Master of Information Security Assurance from Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a specialization in Cybersecurity from Florida Institute of Technology in the United States of America (USA).
Additionally, he obtained a diploma in Records and Document Management from the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) in Riyadh City, a certificate in Disaster Management and Business Continuity from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a certificate in organizations leadership from Harvard University, and a certificate in Cyber Diplomacy from the United Nations.
Mutab Al-Mutairi's professional life
Mutab Al-Mutairi worked at King Saud University (KSU) as a teaching assistant between 2012 and 2014 in the College of Business Administration, Department of Management Information Systems. He also served as an assistant supervisor for the Prince Muqrin Chair for Information Security Technologies in 2013, and as an assistant professor in the College of Business Administration, Department of Management Information Systems, in 2018. In 2019, he was appointed Head of the Financial and Administrative Affairs Unit at the Office of Community Relations, and later that year, he was appointed Head of the Department of Management Information Systems in the College of Business Administration at KSU.
He also worked as a part-time consultant for several organizations, including the Saudi Finance Company, Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE), and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
Mutab Al-Mutairi's journey at the Shura Council
Mutab Al-Mutairi served as a member of several committees in the Shura Council, including the Cybersecurity Governance Committee, the Electronic Transactions Committee, and the Fifth Parliamentary Friendship Committee. He was also the Deputy Chairman of the Transport, Communications, and Information Technology Committee in the eighth session, during the first (2020) and second year (2021), and became the committee's Chairman in the third year. Additionally, he was a member of the General Assembly of the Shura Council in the eighth session during the third year.
Mutab Al-Mutairi's participation in seminars, conferences, and committees
Mutab Al-Mutairi participated in several seminars, conferences, and workshops including representing the Shura Council at the World e-Parliament Conference in 2021. He also joined the Friendship Committee delegation to the European and Belgian parliaments in 2022.
He was a member of the Advisory Committee for the Labor 20 communication group (L20) within the Group of Twenty (G20), a member of the Department of Management Information Systems Council in the College of Business Administration at KSU from 2017 to 2020, and a member of the jury for the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity (Mawhiba) starting in 2017.
