The museum comprises five exhibition halls, each housing numerous artifacts. The Entrance Hall contains textual panels and maps illustrating archaeological sites in al-Ula, a model of one of the facades of Mada'in Salih, the museum network in the Kingdom, photographic images, and heritage pieces. The Prehistoric Pavilion features texts and images discussing the beginnings of humanity, the formation of the Earth, its geological layers, and the Stone Ages and their tools.

The third hall is dedicated to the pre-Islamic eras, spanning from the post-Stone Age periods to the end of the Jahiliyyah era. It showcases a collection of archaeological artifacts, along with inscriptions and rock carvings, accompanied by texts and images depicting pre-Islamic periods and prominent archaeological sites such as al-Hijr and  Khuraybah in al-Ula.

As for the fourth hall, it houses the Islamic period pavilion, which covers the beginning of the migration of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him (PBUH), images of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and successive Islamic periods. It also includes a display of various archaeological artifacts and panels containing texts, images, and diagrams related to this period and the sites belonging to it in al-Ula Governorate, such as the archaeological site of al-Mabiyat.

The fifth hall contains the Kingdom's Unification Pavilion, which chronicles the beginning of the First Saudi State to the present era through a display of paintings, images, and films depicting the periods of the Saudi state. It also includes a selected collection of heritage pieces from al-Ula.
