Al-Qantara Mosque is located at the foot of Mount al-Madhoon in Taif Governorate, one of the governorates of Makkah al-Mukarramah Province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is known as al-Madhoon Mosque. It is one of the historical mosques that date back to various Islamic eras.
The mosque has a twisted cylindrical folded minaret similar to the twisted minarets that were common during the Abbasid era in the Great Mosque of Samarra and the Ahmed Bin Tulun Mosque in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The mosque features a hollow garage that appears rectangular from the outside.
Al-Qantara Mosque looks ruined. However, it features a protruding ceiling from the walls that is inclined forward to allow rainwater drainage from the roof.
