Al-Jafrah Mosque is one of the historic mosques of old Riyadh City. It was located southwest of Riyadh in Hillat al-Sharqiyah Neighborhood and was previously known as al-Hayza Mosque, named after the neighborhood in which it was situated. The entire neighborhood is now part of al-Hukm Palace complex.

Imams and muezzins of al-Jafrah Mosque

Al-Jafrah Mosque was demolished in the mid-1950s, erasing its landmarks. Among its imams was Sheikh Hamad Bin Faris, a scholar of Riyadh and the head of the Treasury during the early reign of Founding King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud. Other imams included Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Dawood, Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah al-Yamani, who also ran a nearby Kuttab (a type of elementary school), Sheikh Mohammed Bin Sinan, and Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman al-Sheqrey.

As for its well-known muezzins, they included Abdulrahman Bin Majid, Jumaan al-Yamani, Sheikh Abdulrahman al-Munif, and Sheikh Mohammed al-Nuaimah, who was the head of the royal guard for King Abdulaziz at the time.
