Reef Portal is an electronic portal launched by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture (MEWA) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to serve the beneficiaries of the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Reef) and enable them to register and submit their information to receive financial support that contributes to the development of their agricultural activities by accessing the portal at: https://reef.gov.sa.
Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Reef) objectives
Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Reef) aims to improve the rural agricultural sector, enhance the living standards of small-scale farmers, increase efficiency and productivity, and improve quality of life. The portal receives applications from beneficiaries in various sectors targeted by the program, including beekeepers, producers of Arabica coffee, roses, rainfed crops, and fruits supported by the initiative. Once the applications are reviewed, direct financial support is provided alongside developmental programs for registered farmers.
Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Reef) sectors
Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Reef) targets several promising sectors for agricultural producers by launching eight sub-programs for each sector, including: developing, producing, processing, and marketing Arabica coffee, developing beekeeping and honey production, promoting rose farming and trade, advancing the production, processing, and marketing of fruits (such as pomegranates, figs, and grapes), enhancing the capabilities of small-scale fishermen and fish farmers, developing the small livestock farming sector, improving rainfed crop farming (such as sorghum, sesame, and millet), in addition to increasing the value-added benefits of small farms and traditional rural agricultural activities.
