
Hussain Bin Abdulaziz Bin Hassan Al al-Sheikh (born 1964) has been an imam and preacher at the Prophet’s Mosque since 1997 and a religious instructor there since 1998. He also serves as a judge at the Grand Court in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah. Throughout his judicial career, he has worked in three major courts across different regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Hussain Al al-Sheikh holds a doctorate in judiciary from Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud Islamic University and is a founding member of the World Supreme Council for Mosques under the Muslim World League. He has served as a professor at the Islamic University, teaching postgraduate students and supervising several master's and doctoral theses.
Early life of Hussain Al al-Sheikh
Hussain Al al-Sheikh was born into a family known for its scholarship and dedication (Dawah) to Islamic preaching, descending from the lineage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulwahhab. He studied under several prominent scholars, including Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Baz, Sheikh Abdulaziz al-Dawood, and Sheikh Abdullah al-Ghadyan. After completing his early formal education, he pursued higher education.
Education of Hussain Al al-Sheikh
Hussain Al al-Sheikh studied at the College of Sharia in Riyadh City, graduating among the top five of his class. He then pursued a master’s degree and a doctorate at the Higher Institute of Judiciary under Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud Islamic University. He was appointed as a judge at the General Court in Riyadh, then at the courts in Najran and al-Madinah al-Munawwarah. In the latter, he was promoted to the position of appellate judge.
Positions held by Hussain Al al-Sheikh
Hussain Al al-Sheikh taught doctoral students at the Islamic University, specializing in contemporary jurisprudence issues. He also supervised postgraduate theses at the same university. He was appointed as an imam and preacher at the Prophet’s Mosque in 1997.
A year after he was appointed an imam, he was designated as a religious instructor in the Kursi al-Haram, where he delivered lessons in Quranic exegesis, jurisprudence, creed, Hadith, and the principles of Islamic law. He also contributed to issuing religious rulings.
Sheikh Saleh Bin Humaid assigned him to review and evaluate the curricula and educational materials of the Open Islamic University in the United States. Additionally, he participated in several Islamic conferences outside Saudi Arabia, making academic contributions in the United States, Bangladesh, various Arab countries, Europe, and South Africa.
