Al-Haram al-Makki Collegeis an Islamic college located in the Grand Mosque in Makkah al-Mukarramah City, west of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is overseen by the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. Graduates of al-Haram al-Makki Institute are given priority for admission, and students study at the undergraduate level.

Establishment of al-Haram al-Makki College

Al-Haram al-Makki College was established in 2015 under its new name after being part of al-Haram al-Makki Institute, known as the "Higher Division." The college is an extension of the Higher Division of al-Haram al-Makki Institute, following its development and transformation after obtaining accreditations into al-Haram al-Makki College.

The Higher Division of al-Haram al-Makki Institute was established in 2003, marking the initial step toward the creation of al-Haram al-Makki College. Its foundation was based on a Royal Decree by King Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to establish an institute that incorporated middle and high school levels along with the Higher Division in 1965.

Objectives of al-Haram al-Makki College

Al-Haram al-Makki College seeks to promote Islamic knowledge, enhance the number of educational sessions in the prayer halls of the Grand Mosque, and offer graduates of the Holy Mosque Institute the opportunity to continue their studies at the Grand Mosque. The college emphasizes providing high-quality Islamic academic education within the Grand Mosque, taught by skilled scholars, using modern educational technologies, and enhancing institutional partnerships and community involvement.

Departments of al-Haram al-Makki College

Al-Haram al-Makki College includes five departments: the Department of Sharia, the Department of Quran and Sciences, the Department of Hadith and Sciences, the Department of Creed, and the Department of Arabic Language. The college also offers evening classes for students in the Department of Sharia to allow employees and those unable to study during the day to continue their education.

Admission requirements for al-Haram al-Makki College

To be eligible for admission to the college, the applicant must be a Saudi citizen or hold legal residency in Saudi Arabia. They must have obtained a high school certificate or an equivalent qualification from within Saudi Arabia or abroad, with a minimum score of 85 percent. Graduates of al-Haram al-Makki Institute and the Prophet's Mosque Institute are exempt from this requirement. The applicant must also pass the designated admission exams and personal interviews.
