Al-Raed Magazine is a literary and cultural magazine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was issued in Jeddah by its rights holder and editor-in-chief, Abdulfattah Abu Madian. Initially printed at Dar al-Asfahani Printing Press in Jeddah, the magazine was issued bi-monthly before transitioning to a weekly publication, starting with issue number twenty-five. While officially classified as a literary magazine and maintaining this focus in its early editions, its external format later resembled that of a newspaper. Despite this change, it remained true to its literary content, expanding its coverage to include cultural, general, and sports topics.

First issue of al-Raed Magazine

The first issue of al-Raed Magazine was published on December 4, 1959. The magazine continued to publish until 1963 when the Council of Ministers revoked all independent newspaper licenses and transferred publishing rights to institutions that merged some publications. As a result, al-Raed ceased publication at the onset of these institutional changes and remained inactive for three years.
