Nasser Bin Qassim al-Qasabi (born in 1961) is a Saudi actor and the president of the first professional association for theater and performing arts since 2021. He graduated from the College of Agriculture at King Saud University in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and began his artistic career in the university theater.

The life of Nasser al-Qasabi

He was born in the capital Riyadh on November 22, 1961. He studied at King Saud University's College of Agriculture and graduated in 1985. He married the Saudi writer Badryah Abdullah al-Bishr about two years after his graduation.

Nasser al-Qasabi’s artistic career

Throughout his artistic career, he presented a number of plays, drama series, and comedies. He began his artistic journey at King Saud University in Riyadh City, and his initial experiences were on the university stage at the College of Agriculture where he studied. In 1984, he participated in the play 'al-Ta'eh', which marked the starting point of his artistic endeavors. The following year, he participated in the play 'Taht al-Karasi'.

His theatrical works continued as he participated in the play 'Owais al-Tase' Ashar' followed by 'Awdat Hamoud wa Muheemid' and 'Walad al-Deerah', along with several other plays. After a hiatus from the theater, he returned in 2019 with the play 'al-Theeb Fi al-Qlib'.

In television, he debuted in the series 'Uyyun Tarqab al-Zaman' in 1981. He also participated in the series 'Awdat Aswaid' and 'Wadi al-Jarf' in 1985, as well as the movie 'Efhamuni'.

In 1993, Nasser al-Qasabi teamed up with Abdullah al-Sadhan for the TV series 'Tash Ma Tash', tackling social issues in a comedic format. The show aired for nineteen seasons and marked a significant milestone in his career.

In 1994, he appeared in 'Uyyun Baree'ah' and 'al-Saraj,' followed by 'al-Qasr' in 2000. In 2002, he starred in 'Shwayat Malh' and 'Khalik Ma'i' in its seventh season. His participation in 'Abyad wa Aswad' was in 2005, and he appeared in 'Kuluna Ayal Qaryah' in 2008. Additionally, he took part in the medical comedy series '37 Darajah,' which aired in 2009. He also contributed to various works such as 'Selfie,' 'Abu al-Malayin,' and 'Wi-Fi'. In 2018, he joined the cast of the series 'al-Aasoof'.

Nasser al-Qasabi's presidency of the Theater and Performing Arts Association

Nasser al-Qasabi has been presiding over the Theater and Performing Arts Association since 2021. This association is the first Saudi professional association dedicated to this field, operating under the Ministry of Culture. Through this association, Nasser al-Qasabi contributes to supporting performing arts and theater, as well as developing the practice rules within this domain.
