Al-Urubah Park is one of the major parks in Riyadh City, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City announced the commencement of its construction on March 10, 2024, as part of the Green Riyadh Program.

Location of al-Urubah Park

Al-Urubah Park is located at the intersection of Prince Turki Bin Abdulaziz I Road and al-Urubah Road in al-Rahmaniyah neighborhood, adjacent to the King Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation. The park spans an area of approximately 754,000 m² and includes within its boundaries the palace of King Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. It also overlooks prominent landmarks in Riyadh and is supported by a public bus transportation network.

Design of al-Urubah Park

The design of al-Urubah Park was developed based on specifications proposed by six international competitors who participated in a competition organized to present ideas and designs that promote sustainability and comply with environmental standards.

The design of al-Urubah Park includes a three-km panoramic pathway at a height of twelve m, offering views of Riyadh City’s landmarks. Modern technologies have been integrated to harmonize nature with technology, providing visitors with an interactive experience through augmented reality. The design plan includes the planting of six hundred thousand trees and shrubs, covering 65 percent of the park's area. Additionally, permanent water features have been incorporated into the design, aligned with the Wadi al-Laysan that runs through the park. Dedicated walking paths extend fourteen km, and the park features green terraces, open squares, outdoor theaters for events and festivals, and sports facilities suitable for all age groups.
