Gharameel Nature Reserve is located in AlUla Governorate in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province, northwestern the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is about sixty km north of AlUla. The reserve is one of the natural sites in the Kingdom, known for its biodiversity. It is distinguished by unique rock formations shaped by erosion caused by temperature variations, wind, and rain over thousands of years. The reserve also features sand dunes, plateaus, and a variety of desert animals and plants.
Gharameel Nature Reserve, along with the "AlUla Lighthouse" site, was designated in 2024 as the first "DarkSky" sites in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf by "DarkSky International." This organization focuses on reducing light pollution in urban and rural areas.
