Water towers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were built in earlier periods. They aimed to supply water to the provinces' population. They became heritage, cultural, and tourist landmarks, whether since their establishment or after their development. These towers comprise:

Riyadh Water Tower

Riyadh Water Tower, in al-Murabba Neighborhood, is one of the city's landmarks. It was built in the area of the King Abdulaziz Historical Center. It was designed by Swedish engineer Sonne Lindström and executed by a German company. It was completed in September 1971 under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water (currently known as the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture).

Khuzam Water Tower in Jeddah

Khuzam Water Tower was built to supply the neighborhoods of Jeddah City with fresh water retrieved from the wells of Wadi Khulays, Wadi Fatima, and the desalination plant. Established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water in 1977, the tower acquired historical value due to its location next to Khuzam Palace. It covers an area of 1,500 m, has a height of eighty m, and a capacity of 18,000 m.

Al-Khobar Water Tower

The construction of al-Khobar Water Tower began in 2003. It was built on an island surrounded by water and connected to the north of al-Khobar Corniche. The tower is a landmark consisting of three floors. The upper floor comprises a restaurant overlooking al-Khobar City and the waterfront Corniche. Its balcony enables visitors and tourists to observe the city. The tower features a water tank to supply al-Khobar City with water. It has a capacity of up to five thousand m. The tower comprises a bridge connecting the island with the northern Corniche road. The tower's height reaches ninety m.

Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Water Tower

It was completed in 2008. It is located near Quba Mosque with a height of more than ninety m. The tower's tank is topped by a 1,200 m hall dedicated to official ceremonies and receptions.

Khamis Mushayt Water Tower

Its construction began in 2009 and was completed in 2019. It is a modern urban landmark featuring a glass dome at its top. The dome comprises a revolving restaurant and a café overlooking the governorate.

Tabuk Water Tower

Tabuk Water Reservoir or Tabuk Water Tower was inaugurated as a tourist tower in 2016. It comprises several restaurants, individual and family gathering areas, reception areas, and administrative offices. The tower also contains four electric elevators serving the building, one of which features panoramic glass to observe Tabuk City. The tower has a height of eighty-three m.

Sikaka Water Tower

Built in 2019 on an area of ten thousand m, the seventy-two m high tower serves as a tourist attraction in al-Jawf Province. It comprises a water tank with a capacity of nine hundred m located at a height of fifty m. It features a heritage design mimicking the culture of the province. It is considered a reflection of civilization. It comprises three lower floors, a four hundred m hall at the top of the tank, and a five hundred m panoramic view area covered by an architecturally designed upper canopy.

Ar'ar Water Tower

The cornerstone of the tower was laid in 2014. The tower was completed in 2021. It is one of the landmarks of the Northern Borders Province. It is renowned for its distinctive geometric shape. It has a height of eighty-six m. It feeds the administrative, educational, and health regions and the sports city with water retrieved from a 1,600 m capacity ground tank and a 1,500 m capacity upper tank. The tower comprises a ground floor featuring reception halls, a meeting room, and a support services desk, covering an area of 706 m. The first floor includes administrative offices and a prayer room. It covers an area of 436 m. The restaurant consists of two floors, the first with an area of 375 m and the second covering an area of 490 m. It offers a panoramic view of the city at a height of seventy-six m, extending over an area of 630 m.

Hail Water Tower

The construction of Hail Water Tower, also known as “al-Jawhara Tower,” began in 2022. It is one of the most prominent landmarks of the new city of Hail. It consists of a ten thousand m capacity ground tank and an upper three thousand m capacity tank. It also comprises floors dedicated to investment, overlooking Hail City, restaurants, hotel rooms and suites, a gym, swimming pools, green spaces, and fountains. The project covers an area of seventy thousand m. The height of the tower is 114 m.

Buraydah Water Tower

Located in the northern part of Buraydah City, Qassim Province, it is an architectural icon. The tower stands sixty-six m above ground level and is shaped like a golf ball. The water tank, which represents about 60 percent of the ball, has a capacity of eight thousand m. At the top of the tank, a reception hall and a restaurant cover an area of one thousand m.
