Asham Heritage Village is located on the banks of Qarmaa Valley at the center of al-Muzaylif, northeast of al-Qunfudhah Governorate in Makkah al-Mukarramah Province, west of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is situated approximately three hundred km from Makkah al-Mukarramah City and represents a transition point between the Tihama Plain to the west and the mountain heights to the east.
Asham Village is an ancient human settlement that encompasses the ruins of religious, civilian, and military structures, as well as mining sites. The village was one of the stops and stations of the Yamani Hajj Route for pilgrims traveling to Makkah al-Mukarramah from the south of the Arabian Peninsula.
