Bujairi Terrace is part of the historic Diriyah Governorate, located in Riyadh Province at the heart of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was inaugurated by the Ministry of Tourism on November 28, 2022, alongside the historical al-Turaif District.

The inauguration of Bujairi Terrace coincided with the Diriyah Gate Development Authority Festival, attended by delegations from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), who participated in the events of WTTC's twenty-second summit, held for the first time in the Kingdom.

Significance of Bujairi Terrace

The inauguration of Bujairi Terrace, along with the historical al-Turaif District, which was inscribed on the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization's (UNESCO) World Heritage List, marked a significant milestone in the Diriyah Gate Development project whose cost amounted to USD 63.2 billion.

The historical al-Turaif District tells the story of Diriyah, the starting point of the First Saudi State in 1727. At the same time, Bujairi Terrace is part of Diriyah Governorate, constructed from mudbrick at the intersection of ancient routes.

Services of Bujairi Terrace

Bujairi Terrace is located east of Wadi Hanifah and covers an area of 15,000 m. During the first six months after its opening, it welcomed over one million visitors. The terrace's capacity exceeds three thousand people at once. It features over twenty restaurants and cafes, including Saudi cuisine, as well as twelve global brands. Among them are four Michelin-starred restaurants, some of which have opened their first branches outside their home countries.

Bujairi Terrace offers the opportunity to enjoy entertainment musical events, and cultural programs that highlight Diriyah's culture and heritage. It also includes parking spaces for over 1,400 vehicles, in addition to designated areas for electric vehicle charging.

Bujairi Terrace offers a variety of Saudi restaurants and cafes serving traditional and modern Saudi dishes renowned in the Kingdom's regions. Visitors can explore the site and discover its historical landmarks, which reflect the essence of traditional Najdi architecture.

The design of the restaurants and cafes at Bujairi Terrace harmonizes with Diriyah's buildings' historical character. They incorporate materials and tools that date back three hundred years, including mudbrick, which reflects the authenticity of the traditional Najdi architectural style.

Zallal Project in Bujairi Terrace

In 2024, Diriyah Company announced Zallal Project, located next to Bujairi Terrace, near Diriyah Art Futures and Bab Samhan Hotel. The project is scheduled to open in the first half of 2025 and will provide a total leasable space of 14,000 m². It encompasses office buildings with up to six thousand m of leasable space and twelve diverse commercial units covering approximately eight thousand m, available to Saudi and international businesses. The project will also feature underground parking with a capacity of 1,400 vehicles, areas designated for public transportation, and pedestrian pathways.

Events at Bujairi Terrace

Since its opening, Bujairi Terrace has hosted numerous events and celebrations, including National Day festivities, Eid al-Adha celebrations, and the Misk Global Forum 2023. It also welcomed Hawi Journey at Bujairi Terrace, organized by the National Portal for Hobbies (Hawi), one of the initiatives under the Quality of Life Program, in 2023. In the same year, Bujairi Terrace hosted the Diriyah Art and Fashion Exhibition, and the second edition of the Diriyah Global Seminar and its accompanying exhibition, Caravans of Memories in 2024.

Award for Bujairi Terrace

The Riyadh Province Municipality awarded Bujairi Terrace project its Architectural and Urban Creativity Award. The award was presented to Diriyah Company, the project's owner, in recognition of this tourism destination's significance, which seamlessly blends Diriyah's cultural heritage and history with modern architectural styles and high standards of creativity and sustainability.
