Al-Ajrab sword is a significant relic passed down through the rulers of the Saudi state. It belonged to Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saud, the founder of the Second Saudi State, who played a key role in establishing the state's foundations and promoting security and stability. The sword underwent various stages before being entrusted to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in 2015.

For nearly 150 years, the sword was entrusted to Al Khalifa family in Bahrain, after it was presented to them by Imam Abdullah Bin Faisal. The sword is famously associated with a verse from Imam Turki’s poem, which includes the line:

Min Yawm Kul Min Rafiqah Tabra (From the day each of his companion disassociated)

Hatayt al-Ajrab Li Khuwai Imbari (I placed al-Ajrab as my friend, to fight.)

In 2010, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received al-Ajrab sword from King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain. Upon King Salman’s ascension to the throne in 2015, King Abdullah’s sons presented the sword to him.

Al-Ajrab sword played a role in the unification of the Saudi state and earned its name, "al-Ajrab," likely due to the visible rust that adorns it.
