Abdulwahab Bin Amer al-Mutahmi, known as "Abdulwahab Abu Nuqtah," was a Saudi military leader. He served as the Governor of Aseer during the First Saudi State for about eight years, from 1802 to 1809. He led several battles in defense of the security and stability of the Saudi state, in addition to his contribution to its expansion and influence.

Abdulwahab Abu Nuqtah heads to Diriyah

Abdulwahab Abu Nuqtah, along with his older brother Muhammad and a number of men from Aseer, traveled from the town of Tabbab to Diriyah in 1798. They sought to learn more about the capital of the First Saudi State after hearing about its strength and its commitment to spreading justice and ensuring security in accordance with Islamic principles. They stayed for a year as guests of the Saudi state at that time.

Muhammad Abu Nuqtah's assumption of the Emirate of Aseer

In 1799, Imam Abdulaziz Bin Mohammad Bin Saud appointed Muhammad Abu Nuqtah as the Governor of Asir, recognizing his loyalty to the Saudi state. Muhammad and his brother Abdulwahab then left Diriyah  for the town of Tabbab. Later, Muhammad Abu Nuqtah succeeded in bringing Asir under the control of the First Saudi State without engaging in prolonged wars or battles. He then traveled back to Diriyah with several men from Aseer to meet Imam Abdulaziz Bin Mohammad and pledge allegiance. On his return journey to Aseer, he passed away after contracting smallpox.

Abdulwahab Abu Nuqtah's assumption of the Emirate of Aseer

After the death of his brother Muhammad in 1802, Abdulwahab Abu Nuqtah assumed the Emirate of Aseer. In the same year, Abdulwahab led several battles in support of the Saudi state. He played a key role in bringing the Hejaz and Jazan under Saudi control and led multiple raids against the state's adversaries.

In 1809, Abdulwahab Abu Nuqtah was killed in the Battle of Wadi Bish.
