The ancient al-Masmak Palace harbors a museum dedicated to the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It recounts the story of its unification by the Founder, King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud.

Al-Masmak Palace is a prominent national landmark, where King Abdulaziz Al Saud fought his battle to recapture Riyadh. The museum is divided into six halls, and its western wooden gate stands as a witness to the battle, as the tip of a spear remains settled in it, belonging to one of King Abdulaziz's men, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Jalawi, who accompanied the king in the battle.

The entrance of the palace opens to the Diwaneyah, a rectangular room where al-Wujar, a small wall opening dedicated to preparing coffee, is nestled in one of its corners. A well, featuring a tool called the Mahallah for retrieving water is located on the northeastern side of the palace.

Al-Masmak Palace has four conical towers, each raising to a height of fourteen m. In the center lies al-Murabaa Tower, and the palace features an internal courtyard surrounded by rooms. To the east of the courtyard, a staircase rises to the first floor and roof of the palace. The chambers include three residential units dedicated to the Ruler, treasury, and guests.
