List of the Main Ports in Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia overlooks three bodies of water: the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aqaba, and the Arabian Gulf. The Saudi Ports Authority supervises nine main ports, including four economic ports.

Jeddah Islamic Port

One of the oldest Saudi ports, it was established during the reign of the Rashidi Caliph Uthman Bin Affan, in 646. It is the first port that operated in marine trade on the Red Sea coast. It currently receives 75 percent of imports from Saudi ports.

Yanbu Commercial Port

The second gateway for receiving pilgrims after the Jeddah Islamic Port, it was inaugurated in 1965, during the reign of King Faisal.

King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam

Located on the coast of the Arabian Gulf, it is the main port and entryway for cargo from all over the world heading to the country's Eastern Province and Riyadh Province. Moreover, it has a direct railway connection with the Dry Port in Riyadh.

Jubail Commercial Port

A supporting port contributing to enhancing trade through King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, its location contributes to reducing the cost of exported and imported goods. It also includes a warehouse for hazardous materials.

King Fahad Industrial Port in Yanbu

Established in 1980, it is the largest port for loading petrochemicals, crude oil, and refined products on the coast of the Red Sea.

King Fahad Industrial Port in Jubail

Inaugurated in 1982, it is the largest port serving industrial complexes in the Middle East.

Jazan Port

Inaugurated in 1976, it is the third-largest port in the Kingdom in terms of capacity and the largest Saudi port receiving livestock from countries located in the Horn of Africa.

Duba Port

Inaugurated in 1994, it is known for its proximity to the Suez Canal and to the ports of the Mediterranean basin countries.

Ras al-Khair Port

Inaugurated in 2016, it is the most recent Saudi industrial port. It is connected to the mines through a railway.
