Ibrahim Tali’ al-Alma’i (born in 1951) is a Saudi writer and poet. He worked in cultural supervision at the General Directorate of Education in Aseer Province, was a member of the Board of Directors of the Abha Literary Club, and served as the editor-in-chief of "Bayader" magazine.
The upbringing and qualifications of Ibrahim al-Alma’i
Ibrahim al-Alma'i was born in Rijal Alma Governorate in Aseer Province, southwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He earned a bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and its Literature from Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in 1976. Additionally, he obtained a diploma in statistical studies from the Institute of Public Administration in Riyadh, as well as diplomas in school administration and educational supervision from Umm al-Qura University.
Professional life of Ibrahim al-Alma’i
Ibrahim al-Alma’i worked as a statistics clerk and researcher at the General Statistics Department (currently the General Authority for Statistics). He later moved to the Ministry of Knowledge (currently the Ministry of Education) in 1977, progressing through various educational roles as a teacher, then assistant principal, and later principal. He was selected to work at the Education Administration (currently the Education Department) in Rijal Alma Governorate, where he headed several divisions, including School Activities, Educational Training, and Statistics.
He traveled to Algeria on an educational mission for four years in 1985. Upon his return, he assumed the management of the Antiquities and Museums Unit, followed by cultural supervision at the General Directorate of Education in Aseer Province until his early retirement in 2002. In 2011, he was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Abha Literary Club, where he served as the editor-in-chief of "Bayader" magazine, published by the club. He also wrote opinion pieces in the "Duroob" column, which he started in "al-Bilad" newspaper, then continued in "al-Madina", and later in "al-Watan".

Ibrahim al-Alma’i has published poetry collections, including "Hajeer" in 1996, "Suhail Umaymani" in 1999, and "Nahlat Suhail" in 2001.
He has also published prose works, including "Death Inward" in 1997, "Traditional Poetry: The Pulse of Life" in 2000, and the book "A Brief of the Accomplishments", which was translated into English and French. Additionally, he released the complete poetry collection "The Melodies of Tihama" in 2018. He has other unpublished works and poetry collections.
The awards of Ibrahim al-Alma’i
Ibrahim al-Alma’i received the Abha Prize for Culture in 2002 for his poetry collection "Nahlat Suhail." In 2016, he was awarded the Abha Prize again for his poetry collection "Wa Fatima."
