Jeddah Islamic Port covers an area of 12.5 km² and is centered on the global maritime navigation route. It is considered the leading port on the Red Sea coast in maritime trade, connecting three continents: Asia, Africa, and Europe. The port receives approximately five thousand ships annually, including pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors.

Jeddah Islamic Port is the primary port for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's exports and imports. It ranked eighth globally in the Container Port Performance Index for 2021, issued by the World Bank.

Jeddah Islamic Port, located west of the Kingdom, features four specialized terminals, including two container handling terminals with a capacity of 7.5 million TEUs and two terminals for general cargo. The port also includes a logistics village dedicated to storage and re-export activities. With an annual handling capacity of approximately 130 million t, the port is equipped with berths for handling live livestock, capable of managing up to seven million heads per year.
