Hani Hussain al-Nakhli (born 1986) is an athlete on the Saudi national disability athletics team. He was awarded the Order of King Abdulaziz (First Class) after winning the silver medal at the Paralympic Games in London in 2012.
Achievements of Hani al-Nakhli
- In the Asian Para Games, Hani al-Nakhli won eight medals, consisting of three gold, three silver, and two bronze. In the first edition of the games, held in Guangzhou in 2010, he secured three medals across all three colors: gold in discus throw, silver in shot put, and bronze in javelin throw. At the Incheon Games in 2014, he won two gold medals in shot put and javelin throw. In the Jakarta Games in 2018, he took home two medals: a silver in shot put and a bronze in javelin throw. Most recently, at the Hangzhou Games, he reached the podium for the fourth time in the Paralympic Games, winning a silver medal in the shot put.
- In 2012, he won the silver medal at the Paralympic Games in London and secured a gold medal in discus throw at the ninth Tunis International Athletics Meeting.
- In 2015, he broke the world record in the discus throw, reaching a distance of 28.76 m, a record that had never been achieved in IPC competitions. He also won the gold medal in the discus throw at the Grand Prix in the United Arab Emirates and secured the gold in the discus throw (33 F) at the ninth Tunis International Athletics Meeting.
- In 2016, he won the bronze medal in shot put at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games in Brazil.
Order of King Abdulaziz for Hani al-Nakhli
In October 2012, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received Hani al-Nakhli, an athlete on the Saudi national disability athletics team. During the reception, King Abdullah awarded him the Order of King Abdulaziz (First Class) in recognition of his silver medal achievement in the discus throw event at the Paralympic Games in London in 2012.
