Majid Ibrahim al-Fayyad is the Executive General Supervisor of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh. He is also a member of the boards of directors of several other governmental entities.
Educational journey of Majid al-Fayyad
Majid al-Fayyad obtained his bachelor's degree in medicine from King Saud University in Riyadh. He completed a pediatric fellowship program at Tufts University in Boston, USA, and a pediatric cardiology fellowship at Columbia University in New York. He received a specialization certification from the American Board of Pediatrics in 1996 and from the American Sub-Board of Pediatric Cardiology in 2000. He completed his professional training in cardiac electrophysiology at Baylor University in Houston. In 2015, he earned a master's degree in medical management from the University of Southern California.

Majid al-Fayyad holds memberships in several governmental and professional committees. He is a member of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Executive Committee at the King Salman Center for Disability Research. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of King Saud University in Riyadh and the Board of Directors of the Saudi Health Council.

Majid al-Fayyad held leadership and administrative positions in the healthcare sector until a Royal Decree was issued appointing him as the Executive General Supervisor of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center with the rank of excellent on October 3, 2017. He is also a member of the hospital's Board of Directors and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the hospital. Additionally, he is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital Charity Foundation, "Warif Charity."
During his tenure overseeing the hospital and research center, a Royal Order was issued on December 21, 2021, to transform the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center into an independent, non-profit institution owned by the government.

Majid al-Fayyad ranked twelfth in "Forbes" magazine's list of the Most Powerful Healthcare Leaders in the Middle East for 2024.
"Becker's Hospital Review," a magazine specializing in the healthcare industry, included him among the Top 101 CEOs of Academic Medical Centers for 2023.
This recognition came as a result of his leadership in transitioning the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center into an independent, non-profit institution. He maintained the clinical strategy, operational productivity, patient experience, education, and research strategy. In addition, he oversaw referrals, medical treatments, acceptance of new patients, outpatient visits, surgeries, and virtual appointments. Under his leadership, the hospital began launching an academic training center, establishing new branches, accrediting new medical and educational programs, and expanding its facilities.
Majid al-Fayyad has experience in medical research; his work has received grants from prominent institutions, and he has published articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed medical journals.
