The SAC 'Flyin' flights are one of the events organized by the Saudi Aviation Club (SAC). They include group flights with the participation of several club members and light sport aircraft owners, traveling to various regions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They aim to promote aviation activity, represent the aviation sector, and explain its standards. The concept was initiated in 2017, and its first flight was within al-Ula, followed by al-Wajh.
Objectives of SAC Flyin
Through its Flyin flights, the SAC aims to introduce the field of aviation, promote its science, and encourage its practice. They help foster talents in aviation fields, industry, and engineering, and contribute to the growth of the recreational aviation sector in the Kingdom. These flights provide the public with opportunities to view light sport aircraft, visit tourist destinations within the Kingdom, and experience its landmarks and natural landscapes from above.
SAC Flyin system
The Saudi Aviation Club (SAC) releases flight schedules for 'Flyin' flights across the Kingdom's regions. These schedules specify the dates and the number of days allocated to each region. Each city visit lasts for one or two days and occurs on weekends. This timing allows for attendance, viewing and learning about the participating aircraft, and offers the opportunity to experience an introductory flight.
Events of SAC Flyin
The club organized a Flyin event titled 'Above the Clouds' in 2018, which departed from ath-Thumamah Airport in Riyadh and headed towards al-Ula and al-Wajh. This event, in collaboration with the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (currently the Ministry of Tourism), included sightseeing tours, land and air trips, a beach camp, and diving.
The 'Flyin' schedule of flights for 2019-2020 included the State of Kuwait, Hail City, Qassim Province, al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, al-Ula, Dammam, to al-Ghat Governorate.
In 2020, the SAC organized a 'Flyin' flight in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, following al-Madinah al Munawwarah-Tabuk 'al-Mondassah' route. The trip featured a variety of activities and family-friendly spaces, with the aim of promoting aviation culture among both adults and children. It also provided an opportunity for attendees to meet pilots and benefit from their expertise and knowledge in this field.
The Flyin events scheduled for 2021 and 2022 included trips to the cities of Hafr al-Batin, Hail, Qassim, al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, and al-Ahsa.
