Al-Oudah Mosque is a historical mosque located in the center of al-Oudah Neighborhood, north of the Diriyah Governorate, Riyadh Province, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is situated at a distance of eight km west of Riyadh City.

Historical importance of al-Oudah Mosque

The mosque owes its historical importance to being one of the oldest historical mosques in the Diriyah governorate. It was built of mud on seven columns and comprised an underground retreat. It spans twenty to thirty m in length from north to south and has a width of around fifteen m.

Development of al-Oudah Historical Mosque

Al-Oudah Historical Mosque has undergone three restoration processes and is covered by Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Project for the Development of Historical Mosques in its second phase in 2022, to restore it to its former state in both form and content, preserving its history and highlighting its unique architectural heritage. The project aims to renovate the mosque in the Najdi style, using mud construction techniques and natural materials, making it capable of adapting to the local environment and the hot desert climate. Additionally, the mosque's area will be expanded from 794 m² to 1,369.82 m², increasing its capacity from 510 worshippers to 992 worshippers.
