Taif rose cultivation is famous in Taif Governorate of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Taif is located on the Sarawat mountains range and includes about 850 rose farms, spread over several areas, such as al-Hada, al-Shafa, Wadi al-Aamaq, Wadi al-Bunni, Wadi Muharram, Tuwairq, and al-Mukhadah.
The cycle of planting Taif rose seedlings, pruning them, and trimming the branches of the planted seedlings begins in the spring. This process extends until the end of summer. Following this, the rose harvesting season commences in the first ten days of March and spans a duration of five to seven weeks. Rose harvesting follows the traditional methods. The roses are then offered for sale or used to make rose water or rose fragrance.
