Ceer Motors, specializing in the manufacturing of electric vehicles, was announced by the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on November 3, 2022. It is considered the first Saudi brand involved in the manufacture of electric vehicles in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In 2019, a site was allocated for the establishment and operation of an automotive assembly plant in the Jubail Industrial City for the Saudi National Automotive Manufacturing Company "SNAM," in collaboration with the South Korean company Ssangyong. The plant was built on a land area of 84,174 m, with an initial production capacity targeted at ten thousand vehicles per year, which is expected to increase to thirty thousand vehicles annually thereafter, with an estimated investment of around SAR700 million.
