Hussein Bin Ali Arab was the first Minister of Hajj and Endowments, currently the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He was entrusted with this position when the ministry was established in 1961, during the reign of King Saud Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, when he contributed to establishing the Kiswa Factory of the Holy Ka'aba. In 1963, he resigned from the ministry due to health issues.
Hussein Bin Ali Arab was born in Makkah al-Mukarramah City in 1920. He was a distinguished writer and poet, and a member of numerous cultural and literary clubs and institutions. He played a significant role in establishing the institutional framework of the Kingdom, formulating many of the rules and articles related to the law of the Ministry of Interior, and developing regulations for the affairs of foreigners, residency, and civil affairs. He published his complete collection of poetry in two volumes in 1985, containing approximately 119 poems, some of which were translated into German and English. He passed away in 2002.
