Northern Borders Municipality

The Northern Borders Municipality is responsible for the urban development of the Northern Borders Province and its coordination with the governmental entities to set structural plans for cities, governorates, and centers in the province. It is one of the seventeen municipalities dispersed in the thirteen provinces of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its responsibilities include providing municipal services to citizens and residents. It is headed by a secretary.

The Northern Borders Municipality is organizationally affiliated with the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing and housing. It is headquartered in Arar Governorate and is 3.4 Km from the seat of the emirate. The municipality includes seventeen secretariats: Rafha, Turaif, Al Uwayqilah, Umm Khansar, Linah, Shobah Nassab, and Talaat Al-Temyat.

The name of the secretariat was changed to the Northern Borders Municipality in 2005 after the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing made decisions to rename the municipalities of the provinces. These decisions were also concerned with the connection of municipalities and rural complexes the cancellation of the General Directorates of Municipal and Rural Affairs, and linking the municipalities and village complexes to the secretary.

The Northern Borders Secretariat is responsible for implementing several tasks, namely providing services to the province and its suburbs in all its urban planning facilities and providing roads, lighting, and essential equipment. Furthermore, it is responsible for improving and beautifying the city and managing the services required to maintain cleanliness and a healthy environment.
