King Khalid University Hospital is a public research educational hospital in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is one of the key medical facilities within King Saud University Medical City in Riyadh. It includes nineteen departments and is supervised by the University.
King Khalid University Hospital was opened in the university city of Diriyah in 1982. It included an outpatient clinic complex. The hospital has achieved several milestones in healthcare accreditation, including the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI), which is based on a comprehensive assessment of the level of care and quality according to scientific standards for various levels of healthcare.

King Khalid University Hospital's capacity increased to 1,200 beds following the hospital's expansion in 2016. The renovated building consists of eight floors, including two basements occupied by the oncology treatment center, a ground floor, and five upper floors. It is equipped with modern medical devices such as radiation therapy equipment, ultrasound-based cancer treatment devices, and nuclear imaging machines.
The hospital also provides medical care and serves as an educational hospital to train healthcare professionals, including medical students, interns, residents, fellows, students, and trainees from healthcare colleges and institutes, in a safe clinical environment.

King Khalid University Hospital Among the World's Best Hospitals
In June 2022, the American magazine Newsweek included King Saud University Medical City with its hospitals, King Abdulaziz Hospital, and King Khalid Hospital, in its list of the world's best hospitals for 2022. This recognition was based on improvements in healthcare performance indicators, infection control measures, patient safety, and other indicators related to the quality of medical services. The medical city was distinguished for enhancing a safe environment for patients through regular performance measurement, risk analysis, and taking necessary measures while also developing action plans to improve and enhance these measures.
The University Medical City received several international accreditations, including the Diamond Level certificate, the highest rating from the Canadian Accreditation Body. This recognition came after the comprehensive evaluation by the council's team regarding the Medical City's commitment to quality standards in procedures and healthcare services provided in accordance with international standards at King Khalid and King Abdulaziz Hospitals, both affiliated with the Medical City.
